Sessions with Trees

Trees provide us with oxygen, so are our very life breath. They bring so many other
benefits to support biodiversity, our planet's ecosystems and our climate.
They can also offer us support, solace, healing, wellbeing & mentorship, even.

Our lives are busy & hectic, the world is a crazy place, our future is uncertain - our
poor nervous systems are under the strain keeping on top of it all. It can sometimes
feel too much & overwhelming and can stress our systems the flip-out

Research shows that spending 120 minutes a week in nature and with the trees
reduce cortisol levels - reducing stress and boosting psychological well being fast and easily.

TreeWise's Healing and Wellbeing with Trees workshops,
run monthly, give you that in just one session

More than that you can redress the balance of a humanity that has lost its
connection with nature by coming directly to the web of life for guidance

Sooth and regulate your Nervous System with nature-connection & somatic
practise so you can be a calm, resilient and tenacious Ambassador

My experience tells me that once we can bring our parasympathetic nervous system
online we enter into more embodied presence and a wider sense of self & time.
Once we have stilled our minds, slowed our systems right down we can step away
from the hectic-ness of our every-day lives, and the craziness of the world, just for a bit,
and work on our health, wellbeing and connection to the natural world.

Come home to nature, come home to yourself!

Here's me talking about these
For the Love of the Trees sessions
There is much wisdom in the natural world, and trees are sentient beings that can have been here on our planet for millions of years
- they are a tenacious lifeform that has stood the test of time.
Trees stand for hundreds of years and as such can help us widen
our sense of self and time. And can help us more readily embody
7-generational thinking - where we consider both our ancestry and
the future generations in our decision making - and for not just the human species.

Trees are so intrinsic to so much of the health of our planet,
ecosystems and climate, they can teach us to understand our
place in the world as part of a more complex web of life.

They really want to offer solace, support and guidance to us.
If we can open our hearts and all our senses, and come into a certain quality of being & awareness with them, we are more able to connect with the intelligence inherent to them.

Calming the nervous system, soothing the mind and
coming into embodied presence is step 1.

The Story about My Healing from Trees
Trees have been my saviours on many occasions, and were nearly the death of me once when I was involved in a car accident that narrowly missed a tree head-on (my life literally flashed before my eyes)
When the first covid lockdown happened sitting with the trees, and in tranquil nature, brought such relief to my way-overwhelmed brain and sense of mental unwell-ness.

I was able to find a serene sense of peace despite all the covid-crazy going on, this brought resiliency and ability to stay on track mentally & emotionally.
The trees - and all of nature - called me home to the sense of stop! and showed me the opportunity this offered - to come into a new, honouring & reciprocal relationship with the natural world - that normally my busy life stopped me having.
This invited me into a whole new world of awareness & presence where I’d slowed down enough to begin to enter an altered state of receptivity, where I began to hear what the trees and nature had to say in support - a sort of mentorship if you like.

There is such intelligence in the natural world . So much magic going on in every moment in the natural world - like the trees making oxygen for us to breath, like the swallows finding their way to and from Africa, like the plants using light to create food for themselves with photosynthesis, I could go on and on and on….

I believe alongside this intelligence is a sentience.

During this covid-crazy time (or the big-pause as I began to call it) I suffered a back injury,
that made it difficult to walk or move around.
The trees called me to them for healing. I was invited to attend 6 trees for 4 days-each for healing.
I would lie on the earth on a blanket with my feet on the tree (sitting was v. painful) I quickly learned
that I needed to activate my parasympathetic nervous system in order for the healing to begin.
Each time I dropped enough into the rest and digest state an energetic flow would begin moving
from the tree into me. Each tree had a different feeling. for e.g. Beech felt light green and gentle, Willow felt purple and rooting.
Each had wisdom to share too.
Oak told me to get in the river for cold-therapy. I resisted for 3 days, on the 4th day of being told this,
I relented. It was the best thing I did - my pain would be relieved and I could walk with ease for a little while. It was also sooo good for my mental health and helped bring all the inflammation down. My Acupuncture therapist later said (when lockdown eased) that this was the best thing I could have done.
There is so much wisdom & support available to us from the Trees - they really do want to help us humans - if we could just slow down enough, & take ourselves in to the parasympathetic (rest and
repair mode) nervous system, calming ourselves sufficiently enough, to enable us to open up to it with our hearts, ears and other senses.
I know from experience, that unless I do this initial slow-down process the trees and the nature are harder to hear, and certainly the healing energy from trees does not start to flow till I activate that state.
I want to share the teachings the Tree’s gifted me - so it keeps on giving in ever wider circles
